The Nigerian National Committee on the Study of Juche Idea, in line with our schedule of programmes for the year 2009, presented books, printed materials, newspapers and news bulletin to the library of the University of Abuja, Nigeria. The books presented were on Juche Idea, socialism, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the works and exploits of dear Great Leader and the founder of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea Comrade Kim IL Sung, the Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong IL. The printed materials were on Juche Idea and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the newspapers were published in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the news bulletins were published in Japan by the International Institute for Juche Idea (IIJI). The gift items were presented by the National Chairman of the Nigerian National Committee for the Study of Juche Idea Dr. Alhassan Mamman Muhammad in the presence of Juche adherents.

The National Chairman in his remarks stated that the gift items would not only further strengthen the strong bilateral relations existing between Nigeria and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea but that students and lecturers alike would appreciate Juche Idea more. He stated that Nigerians would better understand Juche Idea the more and see how Nigeria can develop and sustain its developmental strides through Juche Idea.

In his response on behalf of the University of Abuja, the University Librarian, Dr. Innocent Ekoja thanked the Nigerian National Committee for the Study of Juche Idea and promised that the donated academic materials would boost the understanding of Juche Idea and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea by Nigerians particularly young academics. He also promised to provide a separate section within the serial unit of the university library for the donated materials on Juche Idea and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. He urged the Nigerian National Committee for the Study of Juche Idea to make similar donations in future and the gesture should be extended to other universities in Nigeria.

Furthermore, the Nigerian National Committee for the Study of Juche Idea conducted a group discussion on Monday 16th to commemorate the sixty-seventh birthday of the Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong IL. Furthermore, the national chairman presented a bouquet of flowers to the portrait of the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il.
